The Israeli defender joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers in June 2007. He has signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge and will be looking to push himself into manager Jose Mourinho's plans for next season. Ben Haim joined Bolton on a three-year contract from Maccabi Tel Aviv in July 2004 after a succesful trial. Immediately made his mark in the Barclays Premier League with a series of assured displays. Captain of his national team, Ben Haim was part of the Maccabi side which took the 2004 Israeli League.
