A product of the Cruziero?s youth set-up in Brazil, Geovanni has a reputation as a dangerous and skilful attacker. He joined Manchester city on a one year deal in July 2007 and promptly won over the fans by scoring City?s winning goal in the Manchester derby. In July 2008 he moved to Hull City and again showed his worth by scoring Hulls first ever Premiership League goal on his debut.
