Profile

Born in Zimbabwe, Bejani currently plays for Manchester City. In January 2005 he joined French side Auxerre, where he scored 19 goals in 72 league games and was a true hero in their 2005 French Cup triumph, scoring in the 2-1 defeat of Sedan in the final. He played sixteen times in his first few months at Portsmouth and scored once - the first in a 2-1 victory at Wigan. His scoring ratio continued to be hit and miss over the course of the 2006/07 season, and he ended up with just six goals. However in 2007/08, he found his shooting boots, scoring 12 goals by the end of the January transfer window, earning himself a move to Manchester City where he wasted no time in earning hero-status amongst the City fans. Benjani glanced home a first goal for the Club in the famous 2-1 victory at Old Trafford to further silence the home crowd.
