Bulgarian Valeri Bojinov plays for Manchester City. The powerful 21-year-old striker joined from Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee. He gained valuable experience after being loaned out to Juventus in July 2006, his goals helping the Turin giants back into the top flight of Italian football. Valeri looked the part in a substitute appearance at Upton Park on the opening day of the season, and was named in the starting eleven against Manchester United a week later. Unfortunately he suffered an appalling cruciate ligament injury after just six minutes when he landed awkwardly when challenging for a header.
